Academic Background: 2nd Year Nursing Student
My name is Treasure, I competed for Research Pitch in MUHS on 2024, and attended MUHS & MUHB on 2025. I am currently in nursing school, working part time and volunteering for nursing events when I get the chance. I really enjoyed the workshops and the different case studies, it really gives you an insight into the world of a healthcare professional. The workshops I joined gave me the foundation on skills that I would later need in nursing school, I’ve also gotten to connect with people who are ahead of me or have graduated, and the insight and guidance they have provided has been really helpful. The experience from the skills in workshops made me more confident in doing them when in school.
Academic Background: 2nd Year Health Sciences Student
My name is Brenna and I attended MUHB during the summer of 2025. Currrently, I am continuing to pursue my Bachelor in Health Sciences, with the goal of going into medicine in the future. I am also hoping to work in a lab this summer to gain more hands-on experience and further explore my interests in different fields. My favorite part of MUHB was having the opportunity to sit with so many knowledgeable individuals and engage in meaningful conversations with them. It was also incredibly rewarding to receive the Member of the Year Award. MUHB helped me realize that there are so many people willing to support and guide us, but we have to be willing to put ourselves out there. That mindset has pushed me to be more proactive, ask questions, and build connections, which has truly helped me move forward toward my goals.
Academic Background: 3rd Year Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology Student
My name is Erica Wong, I am currently a 3rd year undergraduate student pursuing an Honours degree in Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology. I attended MUHS in 2025 where I had the opportunity to learn about the diverse career options in health sciences. I enjoyed participating in the interactive workshops, where we gained hands-on exposure to various techniques that are routinely performed by healthcare professionals. These workshops, along with the case studies and keynote speech, were engaging and insightful, and provided us with access to learning opportunities that are otherwise unavailable to undergraduate students. I also enjoyed connecting with peers who share similar interests and passions, as well as educators and experts in healthcare who could share their experiences with us. I highly recommend MUHS for those interested in pursuing a career in health sciences as a way of learning more about the field!
Academic Background: 4th Year Health Sciences Student
My name is Sam, I attended the most recent MUHB in 2025, and I am currently in my fourth and final year of my Bachelor of Health Sciences (B.H.Sc.). My favourite part of MUHB was the opportunity to meet and speak with professionals from a wide range of healthcare fields, as it was really interesting to hear about their experiences, career paths, and the different directions a career in healthcare can take. The event created a welcoming environment where students could ask questions and learn directly from people working in the field. Overall, MUHB helped broaden my perspective on careers in healthcare by connecting students with experienced professionals and guest speakers, and hearing their stories was both inspiring and informative—it reinforced my interest in healthcare and gave me valuable insight into the many paths possible within the field
Academic Background: 3rd Year General Science Student
I attended MUHS in 2025 and am currently working toward completing a general science degree as a pre-dental student. My favourite part of MUHS was the dental workshop, where I had the opportunity to place a mercury filling on a model tooth and see dentistry up close. It was exciting to gain hands-on exposure and learn more about the work dentists do every day, and this experience strengthened my passion for dentistry while showing me the level of skill, care, and precision required in the field. I also participated in the research pitch, which helped me develop important skills such as leadership, critical thinking, and public speaking. Preparing and presenting my ideas pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me more confident in sharing my thoughts, answering questions, and speaking in front of professionals.
